photographs

Today I finally was able to hold the photographs from the year 12 ball in my very hands. There is something more special about holding a photo as opposed to looking at one on Facebook. It has greater significance somehow. Maybe it's because someone took the effort and time to develop the photos. Or press the print button.

Recording your life through pictures is something that is sometimes forgotten. When the camera was first invented, people only took photos of the important events such as weddings, graduations and perhaps one massive family picture at Christmas.

With the growing technology, people whip out their phones whenever they want to take pictures of misspelled signs, their pet cats and every single meal that they eat. As a result, we forget that memories should be treasured. Our important memories get muddled up with our trivial memories, and eventually get lost.

I personally feel that the only way to sustain our memories is to develop our photographs and put them in an album like everyone did before social media was everywhere.

I don't think that it's wrong to post photos on the internet - I do it all the time. It's a fantastic way to share your life with your friends and family.

All I'm saying is, it is better to have physical copies of the most amazing, important memories so that you can't forget them. Think about the day that you will sit down with your kids one day and talk about what happened during each photo. You don't want to say "OH! That was the day that your Aunt Jessica ate a really nice apple."

Like, come on.

Don't forget that life is important! To whom? To YOU.

Got a problem? Write a list about rainbows.

Sometimes it seems like I am the only person in the world who does not want to leave high school. Everyone I talk to says something along the lines of, "Ugh, more assignments. I can't wait to get out of here."

It is fine to want to move forward in your life, however I feel that rather than feeling bitter about the present, more people should be getting excited about the future.

One of the ways that I like to get myself excited for events is writing lists. If I am going to travel or go on a school camp, I like to write packing lists. If I am going to go shopping with friends, I like to write lists of what I'd wish to purchase. If I know that my weekend will be filled the a mountain of work, I like to write a list of every single thing I have to do.

I never finish my lists.

That doesn't matter though, because as long as I have a positive outlook, I'll be okay. So WHAT I have an important life-changing exam that could determine whether I make it or break it? I don't know what is going to happen, but I know that AFTER the exams, I have great things planned.

THINGS TO DO AFTER UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE EXAMS:

- reconstruct my old clothes
- donate clothes that are too small
- make a music video with the my friends
- learn how to play COD and other masculine related games
- get a job
- re-arrange my shoe-box of a room
- fall in love with classic literature
- get into a regular exercise routine
- write music.......

..... and of course, the list is not complete yet. It will keep growing as time goes on, but it doesn't matter what  is on my list. What DOES matter is that I'm enjoying the idea of "what's next?" rather than "I hate my life".

Don't read this as if you have never wished you could fast-forward a period of time in your life, because I know you have.

SUMMARY:
If you feel like you are going through a rough bump, write a list and get excited for what is AFTER the bump
